The historic entrance of Pasticceria Ponti in Canzo

1894 — Today

Our story

Pasticceria Ponti opened in Canzo in 1894. Since then it has stayed in the hands of the same family, now run by the fourth generation.

132 years of continuous activity have meant keeping the same base techniques — sourdough starter, puff pastry, custards — adapting them to the tools and ingredients available over time, without changing their approach.

Today the pastry shop is part of Gruppo Ponti, which also includes Ponti Bistrot and Albergo Canzo.

Opening day

The "Ricordo di Canzo" postcard shows the pastry shop on the day it opened, in 1894: the Caffè e Offelleria Ponti sign, the vespetro distillery and the tables laid out on the street.

The shop

Still in the same place

The shop still looks out onto the same street in the centre of Canzo, between Como, Bellagio and Milan, where the Ponti family has worked since 1894.
